Culver City News
June 3, 2010 Letter to the Editor I recently became a foster mom to a lovely Culver City dog I named Truman. He would not be alive today without the intervention and quick thinking of Animal Services Officer Corolla Fleeger. The poor dog had been injured, and it was Officer Fleeger who arranged for Truman to receive urgent medical attention. After that, she contacted volunteers who helped to transport Truman to spcaLA on a day when Officer Fleeger was not on duty. Truman received excellent care at spcaLA to ensure that he regained his health. I especially want to thank Shelter Manager Robert Lopez for his help. Forte Animal Rescue agreed to pull Truman, a shepherd and shar-pei mix, from the shelter. I had fallen in love with him and volunteered to foster him until he is permanently adopted. Officer Fleeger remained in contact with us the entire time, offering advice and answering our questions. We thank her and spcaLA for saving Truman's life. If anyone is interested in meeting Truman, the contact is www.farescue.org. Stacy Conde |
