April 4, 2013 Letters to the Editor I found a male German Shepherd in my neighborhood recently and Animal Services Officer Corolla Fleeger came immediately to pick him up. She took him to the spcaLA Hawthorne location. I am so grateful that he was taken to this location because Alma Vera, the pet adoption manager, was wonderful. Alma was available and willing to help as I searched for this GSD's family. When no one claimed this beautiful GS (I've since named Mikey), the staff worked with me to have him released so that I could care for him until a new home is found. I cannot express my gratitude for Alma and the staff, because without their compassion I can hardly imagine what would have happened to Mikey. Sylvia Anderson |
